On January 24, 2012 Ru Yi Studio hosted our first Chinese New Year celebration at our new multicultural center in Taos.  Pearl Huang, Lulu Lokey, Christopher Heron and Melissa Larson did the Lion Dance with the beautiful Lion Heads that were hand made by Melissa and Lulu with recycled materials for last year's celebration. 
Craig Beaudry and others demonstrated Tai Ji forms. Wonderful live music was offered by Taos artist/musicians Reuben Medina, Steve Lamar, John Owens, Mike Caron, Joel Larson and many others.  
A lovely Potluck with a variety of foods from many gournet cooks was enjoyed.  Special thanks go to our local favorite Chinese Restuarant owners, Songs and Yu Garden, who donated exotic and unique Chinese cuisine for us.  
This week, new winter session classes begin at Ru Yi Studio of Multicultural Arts. What a perfect beginning for the Year of the Dragon. We are on the move to soar to reach our goals with positive energy and support from everyone.  Thank you!

Hi, Pearl, Bob and I met you in Oct. I came to your TaiChi class at the library. Bob sent you a Blue Mountain Christmas card and you never picked it up. It's not spam. Happy Dragon New Year. We saw your picture in the Taos News. We get it every week here in NJ. We left NY for the winter and are living in my house. Bob will go back to Chaumont April 1 and I go May 1. I want to enjoy spring in NJ and then again in NY. We are coming to New Mexico in the fall again, spending some time at Chaco Canyon and then in Taos for awhile. Good luck with your new studio. It looks beautiful.
Bob is writing a book on the earth energies of New Mexico and it will be done by the fall. So glad we met in Taos. You are a great lady.

    Pearl Huang, Founder of Ru Yi Studio of Multicultural Arts

    Pearl was born and educated in China.  She is a performer, artist and educator.  She taught Chinese language/culture arts and holistic healing at University of New Mexico, Taos Branch since 2002.  She  also led culture study tours to various parts of China. As of January 2012, she will offer classes and workshops at her new multicultural center in the town of Taos, New Mexico, U.S.A.
