Amy Uyeki is a Japanese/American artist whose focus in exploring her Japanese ancestral past has led her work to touch upon many facets of a cross-cultural medium. She describes her work as narrative in content. Storytelling has been a vital ingredient of her artwork. Primarily she works with woodcuts and linocuts; but alternate that hard-edge technique with pastels and with other media, including collage.
