Pearl Huang was born and educated in China in the traditional manner. Her early education was bi-lingual which paved the way for her east/west synthesis studies after she came to the United States to further her education. Her training in brush calligraphy, Asian aesthetics, poetry and literature is the foundation of her art expressions. The focus of her creativity is on the blending of old and new, traditional and contemporary concepts and imagery. This unique effect is evident in her calligraphy, hand-built ceramic pieces, sculptured paper pieces, jewelry and textile design. All her work are one of a kind pieces manifested into a kaleidoscope of themes. Commissioned work is welcome |
