Fall of 2009 trip to China will be a revisit to Wu Yi Mountain in Fujian for me, and a new experience for a few new friends who will be traveling with me for the first time. I am able to arrange a long-awaited visit to see the unique Earth Building Community (Tu Lou) in Fujian Province south of Wu Yi Mountain. The Tu Lou dates back to Ming Dynasty and earlier. They are a perfect example of sustainable community living created by ethnic tribal Chinese groups living together for generations, as they continue to live today.

After Fujian Province, we will visit Sichuan Province. We had to cancel our trip there last year due to the earthquake. Now the thought of visiting the Giant Panda Reserve Park fills our hearts with anticipation. Of course, we will also be seeing the Giant Buddha carved on the mountain in Le Shan, Buddhist carvings at Da Zu, and go for a short river cruise along the Great Yangtze River. Then we will ascend to the famous Yellow Crane Tower in Wu Han and feel the energy from the great rivers as they converge
I will have new images and stories to tell after this journey is completed. New travel plans for spring of 2010 will be announced sometime after my return. Happy fall to all. |
